Who are Zen Cowboy?
Tom Yates—bandleader, vocalist, and lead guitarist—draws on a rich background in rock, country, blues, and other genres. Award-winning and previously named “New England King of the Blues,” Tom has shared stages with acts like The Monkees, Ray Davies, and The Cars, and has played at venues such as Boston’s Hatch Shell and TCAN.
Doug Lippencott—drums and percussion—has performed with the Boston Symphony, Boston Pops, and has played with artists like Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, and Deep Purple. He’s also been part of numerous pit orchestras.
Ric Maure—keyboards—is a Berklee College of Music graduate known for his jazz expertise and Americana influences, with a touch of humor.
Michael A. Duke—guitarist and vocalist—brings decades of professional experience in blues, R&B, rock, and jazz. Leader of Mike Duke & the SoulTwisters and Musical Director for New Orleans legends like Johnny Adams and Mighty Sam McClain, Michael has performed internationally, sharing stages with Van Morrison, Boz Scaggs, and many New Orleans greats. His soulful style and vast experience deepen the band’s dynamic sound.
Rebecca Riopelle is a lead vocalist, songwriter, and graduate of Berklee College of Music who has performed in numerous venues throughout New England. As the former lead vocalist for Country/Western Swing band, Rumblestrip (winners of NH Country Music Associations Rising Star Band of the Year award), Rebecca has shared the stage with Nashville hit artists, Rodney Akins and Chad Brock at Indian Ranch and has performed for a crowd of over 30,000 people at the Jaffrey, NH Fireworks Festival. Rebecca loves to sing many styles of music from country and folk to rock, funk and jazz.
