Thanks for your interest in tonight’s performance. For those of you who missed out, we’ll see if we can make this happen again.

A once in a blue moon assemblage of some of the finest instrumentalists and singers in the Boston area, this talented group convenes every so often to perform the music of Traffic and Steve Winwood — and when they do, it is an event. Comprised of diverse artists, writers, and performers in their own right, this is not so much a tribute band, as an ensemble that gets together when the stars align, in order to keep it fresh and vibrant, and with everybody working on original music.

Phil Aiken — A long time local fixture, Phil was a touring and recording sideman with Buffalo Tom for several years, and has played keyboards with numerous artists, including performances with artists as diverse as Little Feat and Eddie Vedder. He continues to contribute to many recordings  as a studio musician. He is currently playing with several bands, working on his seventh solo album, and getting ready to release a “Space Rock Operetta” with a project called The Eye Captain.

Paul Ahlstrand — In addition to being one of the most sought after Sax players in the area, Paul is known for his excellent arranging and composition skills. When not performing he teaches music at Tufts University. Paul has performed with Dr. John, Derek Trucks, and Susan Tedeschi, and more musicians than could possibly be listed here.

Chris Cote — Powerhouse vocalist Chris Cote has been busy of late singing with the legendary Duke Robillard. He is a founding member of Boston legends The Upper Crust, and performs regularly with The Handymen  and The Giant Kings. In addition to his vocal prowress, Chris is a stellar guitarist. A recent highlight was playing bass with Buddy Guy.

Jerome Deupree — Jerome is best known for his work with the band Morphine. He subsequently played with Orchestra Morphine and Vapors of Morphine after the death of Mark Sandman. He is known for his funky approach and keen ear. Jerome was a founding member of the jazz big band the Either Orchestra. He continues to play with Joe Morris in various ensembles, as well as past work with Patty Griffin, Catie Curtis, Jen Trynin, Merrie Amsterburg, James McMurtry, and more.

Billy Loosigian — Billy started playing professionally at the age of 14. He teamed up with Willie Loco Alexander in 1976 to form The Boom Boom Band, recording two albums for MCA and opened for Elvis Costello, Rockpile, and The Ramones. He toured with Andy Pratt, Robin Lane’s Chartbusters, and Nervous Eaters and did session work with producer Michael Jonzun, Clarence Clemons, and Procol Harem. Billy, retired for several years, returned to playing music with local C&W band the Darlings and former Radio Kings frontman Brian Templeton among others.

Jenna Markard — Jenna is a doo good’er child of the sixties — best known for her years as a founder of the NY jam band The Zen Tricksters, touring with them for 10 years. Once relocated to the New England music scene, she has performed with many local band as well as running her own solo band, with an upcoming solo record is due out in 2023.

Milt Reder — Guitarist, producer, songwriter, Milt Reder joined Barrence Whitfield and the Savages in 1987, with whom he toured extensively in Europe and America. He’s worked as a sideman and session player with Bo Diddley, Robin Lane, the Blue Hawaiians, Brother Red (with Plas Johnson), and Susan Tedeschi, who recorded her first two CDs at Milt’s Boston studio, Rear Window Recording Service. His main band for 25 years, Four Piece Suit is best known for their soundtrack work on HBO’s Sex and the City, and have been prolific composers and contributors to a host of film and television productions, and video games

Ed Riemer — Producer, engineer, and studio owner, Ed Riemer is also one of the best bassists in the area. A long-time veteran of the Boston scene, he has been a member of Band 19, Wheelers and Dealers, Paved Country, and currently performs currently with The Darlings and Phil Aiken.

Yahuba — Yahuba performed with Jerry Harrison and Adrian Belew in the Remain In Light tour. As a former member of the Ryan Montbleau Band and Percy Hill, Yahuba also frequently plays with other performers including Jen Kearney, BT/ALC Big Band, The Motet, Spotted Tiger, Taproots, The Brother’s McCann, Duke Levine’s Super Sweet Sounds of the 70s & Chad Hollister Band. He has recorded and toured with countless musicians — Martin Sexton, ALO, Assembly of Dust, Michigan Blacksnake, The Boston Horns, Ron Levy, to name a few.
