Event Details
A MULTIMEDIA TIME TRAVELING CONCERT
This program of high musical humor from three centuries — lightly staged with audience participation — will bring some relieving levity to our complex world. Four 18th-century ladies bicker over bridge in Caldara’s Il Guoco del Quadriglio (The Card Game), PDQ Bach’s Iphigenia in Brooklyn lampoons the dramatic cantata, Kevin Lubin’s nine-minute klezmer-infused opera intimately portrays Three Jewish Women Playing Mah Jongg, and a multi-media world premiere by John Morrison plays with the theatrics of a backgammon match. There’ll be nothing else like it this season!
Featuring:
- Mezzo Pamela Dellal
- Harpsichordist/Accordionist Vivian Montgomery
- Composers John Morrison and Kevin Lubin
- A tight little band of period singers and instrumentalists from the Longy School of Music
