Fugitive Productions has had the good fortune to book both Kat Chapman and R.D. King for a number of years. Tonight, we’re thrilled to bring them together on one stage. Kat, an extraordinary songwriter and singer will open the evening. R.D.King, a master finger picker and composer, will close out the night.
Kat Chapman
Sanctuary welcomes back Singer-Songwriter Kat Chapman! Kat's musical journey has taken her from Boston street performing roots to stages shared with the likes of Boz Scaggs, John Sebastian, Chris Isaak, and Joan Armatrading. She has toured in the U.S. and across Europe, and has released multiple recordings. Listen to Kat's new originals "Purple Tree" and "Meadow" at www.KatChapmanBand.com. Kat will be performing alongside band mate, Chris Leadbetter on guitar, mandolin, and backing vocals.
R.D. King
R.D. King is an award-winning composer and performer of instrumental acoustic guitar music. Captivating and energetic on stage, he blends traditional fingerstyle techniques with guitar pyrotechnics to create cinematic and evocative music. King has placed in numerous competitions for songwriting and performance, including as the winner of the 2017 Canadian Guitar Festival’s International Fingerstyle Guitar Competition and as a finalist for the 2023 International Acoustic Music Awards (Instrumental Category). King draws inspiration from his educational work as a UMass Boston Associate Lecturer, JamPlay.com instructor, and TEDx Cambridge performer. Tonight, King performs work from his latest solo guitar project Songs of Spring, the triumphant final installment in the Seasons tetralogy.
